Why FLY?

We wanted to take some time this week to talk about why the brand was started, why our brand name is so special to us and what we want our brand to be.

 

After the pandemic, For Loving You’s owner and founder, Natalie Walsh, was ready for a new challenge. After deciding to discover new passions, Natalie learnt how to sew and enrolled herself on a fashion design certification. She had a plan.

 

Throughout her life, Natalie has always suffered with body confidence issues. Her weight fluctuated throughout her teens and 20s and no matter what size she was, Natalie always found it difficult to find clothes that suited her body shape and allowed her to feel both comfortable and glamorous at the same time. She knew this wasn’t entirely down to the clothes she was buying but also her frame of mind.

 

After speaking to friends and acquaintances at home in the UK and here in the UAE, she realised she wasn’t the only one. Natalie decided to put her new skills into practice.

 

After meeting her friend and mentor RaeShanda Lias-Lockhart via Instagram, Natalie was filled with the confidence and motivation to start her own fashion brand. In August 2022, Natalie flew to Las Vegas, USA to meet RaeShanda and visit a fashion event there. There, she met, networked and made connections with USA based fashion vendors. Selecting only garments of the highest quality, ensuring high customer expectations would be met, she arranged for the items to be shipped over to the UAE and For Loving You was born.

 

The brand isn’t even a year old yet and Natalie has reflected, adapted and continues to develop the brand into what she envisages it to be.

 

Now, taking a more ethical stance, Natalie has decided that future lines will be designed, sourced and manufactured right here in the UAE. Customer feedback has been invaluable in shaping what the upcoming line looks like. The styles aim to be both comfortable, stylish and made from the highest quality, ensuring that FLY’s customers feel empowered wearing their purchases. Catering for a range of sizes, FLY wants to eliminate the stigma that only one size looks good and give all women a go-to place where they know they will leave feeling unstoppable!

 

Of course, we know that one’s own self confidence, cannot be solved by just the clothes you wear, a lot of inner work must be done too. We have plans to widen our scope and services to reach out and support women in other ways - but one step at a time! For now, look out for our weekly blog where we talk on a range of topics including fashion, beauty, mindset and much more. We can’t wait to reveal what we have planned for the future and look forward to supporting women in many different ways.
